BENTHIC BARRIER RESERVATION FORM (SEE BOTTOM OF PAGE)
Hello LACC Members and Lake Arrowhead Residents,
The conditions are perfect for emplacing benthic barriers!
LACC has constructed (50) 10’10’x 14.14’ benthic barriers which will be made available on a first come first served basis. LAC residents who make a donation to LACC can obtain barriers for use in their waterfront to help eliminate milfoil. Please see the reservation form on our website www.laccme.org for quantity/donation structure.
BENTHIC BARRIERS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PICKUP:
When: Saturday, May 15th or Sunday May 16th between 10 AM to 1 PM
Where: 8 Garage Road (off of New Dam Road). Directions will be provided.
BENTHIC BARRIERS CAN BE DELIVERED (fees apply):
We realize that some members may not have a vehicle large enough to transport the barriers.
When: Saturday, May 15th or Sunday May 16th between 2 PM and 5 PM
Where: Any address within Lake Arrowhead Community
BENTHIC BARRIERS CAN BE INSTALLED (fees apply):
When: Monday, May 17th through Sunday, May 23rd.
Where: Any address within Lake Arrowhead Community
Your order total will be calculated and confirmed by return email. Cash and checks will be accepted at the time of the pickup, delivery or installation.
Keep in mind that the barriers should stay in place for 8 weeks. LACC will not be able to coordinate any efforts to move or remove barriers. Members are welcome to contract directly with our installer. Upon request, we will provide contact information.
All of your time in this effort can be used to help LACC comply with our MMI Grant match requirement of $40K of volunteer labor. Did you know that you can fill out the Time Tracking Form on line? Follow the link to the Time Tracking Form on the left side of the home page. Be sure to include your hand harvesting time as well.
All Lake Arrowhead Conservation Council members have been added to the “Permit by Rule” that has been granted to LACC by the Maine DEP. The “Permit by Rule” covers hand harvesting and benthic barrier emplacement.
If you are not currently a LACC Member, please go to our website and follow the link to the Membership Form on the left side of the home page, print the form and mail it with your payment. Annual dues are $100 for waterfront owners, $50 all others. You will begin receiving email updates, meeting notices and volunteer events once we receive you dues payment.
All donations, whether time or financial, help to support our efforts to improve our lake; and our ability to enjoy all of our lake’s resources.
