Hopeful that we’ll be yelling “BINGO!” again in the not-too-distant future.
In 2017, LACC explored starting a community BINGO game to raise money for LACC. BINGO is heavily regulated requiring state licensing, reporting, and compliance with varying state laws. The pilot was such a success, that LACC moved into “phase 2” in 2018 obtaining an annual license and hosting games monthly throughout the year, extending the invitation beyond the borders of Lake Arrowhead community. In 2019, Beth Howard took over the event from the volunteers and is the current “BINGO lady”, a title she is very proud of. The event has continued to raise money for the non-profit but more importantly, has become a great event for the community to gather, enjoy some home cooked food, and spend a small amount of money for a chance to win cash prizes. Unfortunately due to COVID, the event was suspended in early 2020. Due to the pandemic, there is currently no timeline set to restart the event, but we are hopeful that we’ll be yelling “BINGO!” again in the not-too-distant future. For more information about the event or to volunteer to help make it a success, please contact Beth Howard at firstname.lastname@example.org.
