The Fishing Tournament that was hosted by the Arrowhead Prop Busters on August 15th resulted in a donation of $1,148, which was $345 more than last year. It was a great day for the 19 boats that participated in the event. Some big fish were caught that day. The largest fish for the day was 7 pounds 6.4 ounces which was caught by Dennis Cilley and Garron Baker, who placed third for the day, and the second largest fish was 6 pounds 5 ounces and which was caught by the tournament winners, Jim Owens III and Jim Owens. Special thanks to APB for their
generosity.

Phil Oreto presented a report on his golf tournament fundraiser that was held on July 18th at the Naples Country Club which raised $1,500. This year, we had many enhancements like trophies, logo golf balls and a beautiful perpetual plaque which will be displayed in Clubhouse 2 with the winners’ names. Special thanks to the Lakeside Market, our first corporate sponsor. Next year’s tournament is set for Friday, July 17, 2015 and the goal is to have enough teams to take over the entire golf course.

Elaine & Gerry Francis presented the information about the can and bottle drive at JDs Redemption Center in Waterboro. Year to date, we have collected $81.65 which is a 250% increase over the previous year. We have had an increase in donations since June. The plan to put returnable barrels at the clubhouses did not work out because people disposed of trash. Please turn in your returnables to JDs and tell them that you would like to donate the money to LACC.

Phil Oreto presented a report on his golf tournament fundraiser that was held in August which raised $1,100, which was more than last year. He had 31 golfers turnout for the event and a BBQ was held afterwards at his home and was catered by The Peppermill. The golf tournament is a growing event. The costs are now fixed, so the more golfers we get, the more money for LACC.
