Unfortunately, the Arrowhead Prop Busters have been unable to donate any funds to LACC because they have had to cancel or postpone all of their fishing tournaments due to Covd19 travel restrictions. Hopefully, they will be able to hold their annual open tournament on October 3rd. They will keep us updated.
The total for 2019 was $568.60. As of 8/18/2020 the receipts total $671.00. We may have social distancing, but we’re obviously being some kind of “social”. Its our best year and still have 4 more months! by: Kathy Hart
Phil Oreto presented the report for the Golf Tournament which was held on Friday, July 19th at the Province Lake Golf Course. We had the most players ever at 69 players and made a record profit of $3,750. (62% increase over 2018). We had increased sponsorship for the event and Beth Howard helped. Beth obtained, 17 sponsors. Most of the growth for the event was due to Beth. We are going to focus on growing sponsorship next year and we are going to work with the LAC vendor list to help with sponsorship. The goal is $5,000 next year. The golf course will need to raise their rates next year. Maybe we can form a golf committee to help with discussions. We are already starting to plan the 2020 event Stay tuned for more details.
We sold 115 calendars at $20 each for a total profit of $1,286.95. The calendars were beautiful. Unfortunately, Louanne can no longer run this fundraiser and we are looking for volunteers to take over. If you are interested, please let Tracie know.
Kathy Hart runs the can and bottle drive. Since Kathy did not attend the meeting, her
report was presented by Tracie Doyle. LACC has an account at JD’s Redemption Center
(across from Hannaford in Waterboro). Just drop off your returnable cans and bottles and
tell them that you want to donate your cash deposit to LACC. They will place your
donation slip in an envelope for LACC and Kathy periodically collects the funds. Our
donations increased to $568.60 this year
Phil Oreto presented the report for the Golf Tournament which was held on Friday,
August 24th at the Province Lake Golf Course. We had the most players ever at 59
players and raised $2070.13. This year was different because Phil focused less on how to get players and more on ways to raise money. This year, Beth Howard helped coordinate the event and helped obtain 6 paid sponsors and 3 sponsors that provided in kind services. Phil does not believe that the number of players will increase at this point and that he needs to find other ways to raise additional money from the fundraiser.
Phil Oreto presented the report for the new fundraiser, BINGO. Our pilot program began last August. There was great excitement at first and then it dwindled. The Board approved the renewal of the BINGO license with the state. Do date; we have held 8 successful events. Soon after beginning, we partnered with LAC Odyssey of the Mind who provides food to the participants and Odyssey retains their profits. In August of 2018, the Board voted to enter into a Statement of Work with Beth Howard to assist with the events. Beth is paid from the net revenue of each event in accordance with the state laws. We can now run the event with 4 people and I LACC board member. The Board voted that a LACC board member must control the cash at each event. We are still trying to see how we can make the event better with less people.
